plus minus zero

one of the most difficult things to achieve -- well, at least for me -- is balance. it doesn't matter what area of life we are talking about here -- that steady state of things being just right is always hard to find. what is too little and what is too much; when should you yield and when should you stand your ground. when to ask for extra, and when to say thank you, this is enough, i do not need any more. how is one supposed to know?

i reckon the finding of that elusive feeling might have quite a lot do with happiness, or satisfaction at least -- when you feel that you are either not deprived of anything or being overdosed with something. the problem here seems to be that it can be rather difficult to know what you really want, and therefore what is the proper level of the thing in question. do you do the things you do because you think you should, or because you really want to? are you in a situation in which you chose to be or in a one that you just ended up in?

and if you do find a balance, do you recognize it?

Big questions but there is no definite answer, you just know these in your heart.
I wanted to become a classical musician but after years of everyday practising at the age of 19 I just knew I was not going to make it. I was not good enough and I just knew I could not train enough to be good enough.
At that point I turned my ambition to other things and a decade later I do not regred it. This was not the first nor the last time when I yilded and focused on something else in life. Maybe it was the one of the biggest but these happen in smaller scales throughout your life.

Wishing you happy and thoughtful runs, keep posting these thoughts and fotos.

big questions, indeed, and answering them can sometimes require quite a bit of courage. recognizing that what you are doing is not for you, even if you would want it to be -- to change that and find something else is always a matter of re-defining yourself, at least to an extent. like you said it happens in different scales, all the time; one would only hope it gets easier in some point..

thanks for leaving a comment, hope you'll be stopping by in the future as well.
